Looking at the price, you wouldn’t think this product is a complete home video security solution, but that’s exactly what it is.

Mount it correctly and you can cover a large area, thanks to the motorised pan and tilt.

To start using it, you need to insert a micro SD card for storage, plug in the supplied micro USB power cable and get the Mi Home app on your Android or iOS phone.

This is the same app you would use for any connected lights (Yeelight) or air purifiers from Xiaomi.

You can connect to the camera from anywhere — remotely view a live feed (even at night, because it has infrared LEDs), have a 2-way audio conversation (it has a speaker and mic) and set schedules for home monitoring and motion detection. It all just works, thanks to the slick app interface.

You don’t need to limit yourself to just one camera either — buy more as you need them and access them all via the same app.

You’ll need to factor in the cost of a class 10 micro SD card too; 32GB will cost you Rs 650.
