Actor Vicky Kaushal’s father, Sham Kaushal, an action director himself, tweeted an 'unconditional apology' on the micro-blogging site on Monday after he was accused of sexual misconduct by assistant director Nameeta Prakash.

Reacting to Prakash's accusations and 'some crew member', Kaushal Sr wrote that he has tried to be at his best behaviour ever since he has been a part of the industry. He wrote that he would like to 'unconditionally apologise to the ladies, the production houses, and each and every member of the film industry.'

On Sunday, Nameeta Prakash, who had worked as an assistant director in films like ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd’ and ‘Ab Tak Chappan’, wrote of her 2006 encounter with Kaushal Sr during an outdoor shoot where he had reportedly invited her for a drink to his room. When she had refused firmly, he had showed her a pornographic MMS on his phone.

The #MeToo movement in India gained momentum when actress Tanushree Dutta accused actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ in the year 2008. Since then, women are coming out and speaking about their #MeToo stories. Some of the most popular names accused of harassment and misconduct are actors like Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, directors like Sajid Khan and Vikas Bahl and singers like Kailash Kher and Abhijeet Bhattacharya.
