Meta and EssilorLuxottica have launched new AI-powered smart glasses, Meta Glasses, starting at $299. These glasses feature updated designs, improved comfort, and are powered by Meta's latest AI model, Muse Spark, offering enhanced contextual unde...

The new lineup builds on the foundation established by Meta's earlier AI eyewear products, which combined cameras, voice controls, and an AI assistant in a familiar glasses form factor. The company says it has sold millions of AI glasses over the past five years, helping establish smart eyewear as one of the most closely watched hardware categories in the AI era.
Meta also has a partnership with RayBan a product ET has covered extensively and tested as well in New York City.
The new Meta Glasses range starts at $299 and introduces three frame designs aimed at different styles and use cases:
Meta Adventurer starts at $299 and features a classic rectangular frame available in standard and large sizes.
Meta Fury starts at $349 and adopts a more aggressive, statement-making design.
Meta Glasses by Kylie start at $399 and feature a slimmer oval frame developed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner, marking her first move into wearable technology.
The glasses are available in multiple colorways including Classic Black, Tortoise, Racing Green, Linen, Merlot, Mahogany, and Sandstone. Buyers can choose between clear, polarized, transition, and sunglass lenses, bringing the total number of style combinations to 26.
The lineup also supports prescription lenses. Meta is introducing a new Rx Lens Swap program that allows users to add prescription lenses through their preferred optician after purchase without affecting warranty coverage.
Familiar Hardware, Updated Design
Across the lineup, Meta has incorporated adjustable nose pads, temple tips, and hinge mechanisms designed to improve comfort and fit. Core features remain similar to previous Meta smart glasses, including:Voice access to Meta AI through a dedicated action button.
Multi-microphone arrays with wind-noise reduction for voice interactions.
Hands-free photo and video capture.
Privacy controls and built-in safeguards for people around the wearer.
Each pair ships with a foldable charging case that Meta says can provide up to 40 additional hours of battery life. Meta is also launching a standalone charging stand compatible with most of its current smart-glasses lineup.
First Glasses Powered by Muse Spark
Meta Glasses will be the first smart glasses to launch with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark, the company's latest multimodal AI model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs.According to Meta, the updated AI system offers stronger contextual understanding, allowing the glasses to better interpret what users are seeing and respond more naturally. The assistant is designed to handle tasks ranging from answering questions and recommending nearby restaurants to managing schedules and daily routines through voice commands.
Meta also confirmed that Muse Spark-powered Meta AI is rolling out to existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses in the United States and Canada.
New Features on the Roadmap
A new Dynamic Photo feature automatically captures multiple frames and recommends the best image while still allowing users to choose their preferred shot. The company is also preparing to introduce pedestrian navigation for display-free smart glasses, enabling turn-by-turn directions through audio guidance.
Meanwhile, live translation is expanding with support for 14 additional languages, including Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin Chinese. Following the update, Meta's smart-glasses ecosystem will support real-time translation across 20 languages.
