Messi magic finds its way in Amul creative; Netflix, Durex shower love on GOAT, Dunzo feels for Mbappe

As the dust settled, brands joined in to congratulate the winning team, and captain.

For brands, too, it was a moment to shower some love on the Argentine-born who had effortlessly perched himself as the GOAT (greatest of all time) with his antics on the field.
Lionel Messi's magic on the field at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar captivated millions across the world as he led his country to end the dry spell and lift the FIFA World Cup after 38 years. For football fans cutting across latitudes, the euphoria of seeing the 35-year-old script a win over France in a cliffhanger game was priceless.

For brands, too, it was a moment to shower some love on the Argentine-born who had effortlessly perched himself as the GOAT (greatest of all time) with his antics on the field.

Indian dairy major brand, Amul, of course, was one of the first to laud his prowess. The Gujarat-headquartered brand had announced in October that it was the regional sponsor of the Argentina Football Team in the FIFA World Cup. Since the tournament kicked off on November 20 in Qatar, Amul has kept the football magic alive with numerous creative ads, and done a few special ones to mark Argentine victory over others.

Sunday's win saw Amul doing a witty one with Messi and goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez celebrating with the World Cup trophy in hand. The text reads, “Messi, maska Leo!” with an “Amul greatest of all tastes” at the bottom.

Amul was not the only one to capture the moment. As soon as Argentina ended their WC drought, brands ranging from Zomato to Oyo Rooms to Durex and Netflix, and a host of others, joined the party. And each had something contextual to say as they congratulated the GOAT.

While Swiggy proposed French fries for the South American squad, Durex pitched Messi for president!

Netflix got inspired by its superhit series 'Sex Education' to drive home the point about Messi's greatness, while Myntra and Zomato stuck to their core competencies of food and delivery. And got the message across to their followers.

Other pithy messages came from brands like Oyo Rooms.

Dunzo, meanwhile, had a thought to spare for French talent Kylian Mbappe who got his team back from the brink of annihilation as he equalised Argentina's score before losing in the penalty shoot-out.
