LOS ANGELES: Meryl Streep, a three-time Oscar winner, extended her record of being the most nominated artist in the Oscar history by getting her 19th Academy Awards nomination for best supporting actress in ' Into The Woods'.

Streep's previous Oscar wins include the best supporting Oscar award for ' Kramer vs Kramer' in 1980, best actress award for 'Sophie's Choice' in 1983 and ' The Iron Lady' in 2012.

In the fantasy musical 'Into The Woods', Streep, 65, plays the role of a witch, who places a curse of a baker couple and sends them on a quest to find four key ingredients for a potion that she is making.

'Woods' other two nominations were for costume and production design.
