Mercedes-AMG to launch G63 in India on Oct 5, could be priced over Rs 2 cr

The G-Class car will only be available in the AMG version.

Mercedes-AMG on Tuesday unveiled the launch details of the 2018 G63, which will be launched on October 5.

The revamped G63 will ride on the growing demand for SUVs in India. The new model will only be available in the AMG version, and not with standard petrol engines.

In India, it its expected to be priced at over Rs 2 crore.



On the design front, the auto giant has made a few changes to give it a fresh look. However, the effort is controlled enough to not compromise with the traditional appearance.

Some of the new additions include:

  • LED lights all around
  • Panamericana grille
  • 53mm longer and 121 mm wider in appearance
  • Gets from 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds
  • Lighter in terms of weight, by 174 kgs
Features that remain constant are:

  • Side exhausts
  • 22-inch rims
  • Red brake callipers
  • Flared wheel arches
