Men who 'bag it': Ranbir Kapoor, SRK carry man purses

It’s the holidays and if you’re heading for a summer break, do it in style. Cricket’s young gun Virat Kohli jetted off to the IPL in Dubai with a tote hanging on his shoulder, while Bollywood cool brigade Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan have been spotted courting versions of the Man Bag.

Internationally, the tote, satchel, back packs, cross back slings and the mini boy bag have been rocking the fashion meter, while our men have been spotted sporting the tote, chequered duffels and satchels. Designer Swapnil Shinde says he’s partial towards the oversized satchel as it’s functional and smart.

Fashion designer and stylist Rajat Tangri, who is currently styling the bio pic based on boxing champ Mary Kom’s life, says he designed a range of man purses or ‘murses’.

Fashion designer Pria Kataria Puri points out it’s practical, and fashionable. “Men need a bag to dump their laptops, phones, iPads while on the go.” But heed Tangri’s advice, “Confidence is the key to carrying off this look. If you’re worried the Man Bag will make you look effeminate, it’s probably not meant for you.”
