Men more excited about shopping than women during festive season; clothes, gadgets draw maximum interest
According to a survey, millennials seem to be more excited to splurge this festive season as compared to Gen Z.

“YouGov ran a survey to gauge consumer sentiment around sales and to sense people’s excitement about shopping during Diwali time. The research shows that men are more likely than women to spend more this Diwali than they did last year (48% vs 37%). Even millennials seem to be more excited to splurge this festive season as compared to Gen Z (49% vs 35%),” according to survey findings. Not surprisingly, clothes and gadgets are expected to dominate as shopping categories.
There is some good news for the auto industry too. “A quarter of people (25%) said they are planning to buy a two-wheeler and more than one in five (22%) are looking forward to buying a four-wheeler in the next 3 months,” says the survey.
Sales and flat discounts are very much on the minds of the shoppers. Those interviewed by the survey spoke of an increased likelihood to shop on spotting enticing offers. That should hardly come as a surprise, since Indians have a reputation to protect as value buyers.
