Melinda French Gates uses Paytm to pay at a local store in Delhi's village

In a video shared by the official Twitter handle of Gates Foundation India, we see French scanning a barcode to pay for her purchases at a small local store. The 58-year-old scanned Paytm's QR code to make her payment.
On Tuesday, Paytm boss Vijay Shekhar Sharma had welcomed all the G20 Summit delegates to India.

"Government has taken crucial steps like emergency cash transfer through Direct Benefit Transfer which is a great example of gender intentional policy. The government of India has been pushing forward from bottom up to build a gender equal country," said French, expressing hope that the Centre would work in co-ordination to achieve shared goals and improve the aspect of gender equality in the country even further.
