The legendary fast bowler, currently in Australia to provide commentary for the ongoing ODI series between Pakistan and Australia, shared an astonishing tale about a massive bill he paid for his cat Leo’s grooming. The cost was so high it could have easily covered the price of a new iPhone!

During a live commentary session, Akram recounted the unusual experience, leaving his fellow commentators stunned. The total for the grooming session amounted to an eye-watering 1,000 Australian dollars, roughly equating to Rs 56,000 or about 1,85,000 Pakistani Rupees. To give you an idea, this amount could almost buy a brand-new iPhone, depending on the model.

Akram appeared genuinely shocked by the bill, which was far more than he had anticipated for a simple cat haircut. He explained that the session included a variety of medical procedures, such as anesthesia and a care package for after the grooming. Jokingly, he remarked, “For this amount, you could probably get 200 cats groomed in Pakistan!”


Akram detailed the breakdown of the expenses during the broadcast:

• 105 AUD for a medical check-up.
• 305 AUD for anesthesia to safely sedate the cat.
• 40 AUD for the actual haircut.
• 120 AUD for post-procedure care.
• 251 AUD for a heart checkup.
