Masaba Gupta at the Amazon India Fashion Week SS17: Chic, classy, and for the strong, powerful woman

Live jazz blues at a New York sidewalk with a signboard leading (aptly) to Broadway greeted us at Masaba’s spring summer 17 collection on the fourth day of the on-going Amazon India Fashion Week. But even all this wasn’t enough to prepare us for the gorgeous pops of colours that were to follow.

The collection, ‘Cocktail Hour’ was inspired by women on the streets of the Big Apple, and left everyone watching mesmerised with its candy-colours and eclectic prints.

Talking about the quirky, cosmopolitan collection, the designer said, “The collection delves into the world of vivid and beautifully bold colours that illustrate the concept of strong, independent women.”



Keeping with the theme of AIFW SS17, Indian Modern festive, the collection featured progressive Indian wear - from satin saris paired with shirts to capes and peak-a-boo bustiers with shararas.

Vintage Indian motifs highlighted with pearls and chokers, cherry red heels, bold lips (courtesy, maybelline) - it was the perfect look for the quintessential boss woman!
