Maruti Suzuki launches new Brezza with prices starting at Rs 7.99 lakh

The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki will continue to strengthen its presence across segments, with a special focus om SUVs, Managing Director Hisashi Takeuchi said.

The new Brezza - priced between Rs 7.99-13.96 lakh (ex-showroom) - will take on the likes of Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet in the entry-level SUV segment.

Maruti Suzuki has invested Rs 760 crore, along with supplier partners, to develop the all new Brezza.


“This is our sixth launch in the past 8 months. Today we start the next chapter of Brezza”, said Takeuchi.

With hatchbacks losing its appeal among Indian consumers, the entry SUV segment emerged as the single largest space in the local market last fiscal. Overall, Maruti Suzuki is scheduled to launch a slew of SUVs in the next 18-24 months to regain 50% market share, from about 44% in FY22.
