Manish Malhotra, one of the most celebrated fashion designers of B’town turned 56 on Monday (December 5).
The fashion designer who is known for his luxurious clothes collection and larger-than-life personality went all out for his birthday bash. Although the guest list was kept to his closest friends in the industry, the party still turned out to be quite starry! From Karan Johar to Rekha, the party was attended by the who’s who of the industry.
Rekha who still seems to defy age looked ethereal in a silver ensemble. The ‘Rangeela’ designer took to social media to share BTS (behind the scenes) pics of the bash. He uploaded a cute selfie of him posing with the ‘Umrao Jaan’ diva and captioned the post, “When friends drop in to bring in your birthday you feel special and when it's the one and only my most favourite Rekha Ji and feels even more special #friendsforever #love.”
The interior decorator-producer was however brutally trolled online for her sartorial choice. Naysayers emerged from the woodwork to claim that she had tried to ‘’copy’’ Priyanka Chopra. A PeeCee fan commented, “Lol Priyanka did this so she does,” while another user wrote, “Recently her ex-friend Priyanka Chopra also wore the same kind of dress and jewellery.”
Sridevi’s daughters Janhvi and Khushi were seen sporting orange and maroon dresses. Sonali Bendre dazzled in a wine-colored jumpsuit. Kjo chose a dramatic look. He teamed up a black blazer with silver linings with hot-pink trousers. He finished the urban-chic look with a pair of tinted -sunglasses.

Siddharth Malhotra showed up looking dapper in a black blazer and trousers. Malhotra is a veteran of Bollywood. He has more than 30 years of experience as a fashion designer. He has given birth to many iconic looks in movies like ‘Rangeela’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kabhi Khushi, Kabhie Gham’, ‘My Name Is Khan’ and many others.
