'Partners for life.' Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai gets married at home in UK; PeeCee wishes 'vision' joy and happiness
Yousafzai's Twitter feed was flooded with congratulations and expressions of goodwill for their marriage.

The 24-year-old Pakistani human rights campaigner announced her new life update on Twitter and shared pictures from the ceremony. The activist didn't share any further details on her husband apart from his name.
"Today marks a precious day in my life," Yousafzai wrote on Twitter. The social activist shared her excitement to "walk together" with her husband for the journey ahead.
"Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead," she added.
However, Internet users identified Yousafzai's husband as Asser Malik, general manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board's High Performance Centre.

The actress took to her Instagram Story and re-shared the wedding picture of Yousafzai with her husband and wrote, "Congratulations @malala Wishing you so much joy and happiness. You are an absolute vision!!"

Yousafzai was targeted by the Taliban for her relentless objections to the group's regressive interpretation of Islam that limits girls' access to education.
The 24-year-old travelled to the English city of Birmingham for medical treatment and her family eventually joined her. She went back to school as soon as she could but kept campaigning for the right to an education for others. In 2020, Yousafzai graduated from Oxford University.
"I still don't understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can't it just be a partnership?" she was quoted as saying.
