Mahakumbh: Meet 'Kumbh Chaiwala' who set up a business that earned him more than Rs 1 lakh per month!

Mahakumbh, widely regarded as the most massive congregation on the planet, has attracted individuals from diverse backgrounds, including numerous vendors eager to sell their goods to festival attendees. Among these vendors is Shubham Prajapat, a digital content creator who took on an intriguing challenge—he aimed to determine how much profit he could generate in a single day by selling tea at the grand event. His astonishing discovery of earning a net profit of Rs 5,000 in just one day has taken the internet by storm, igniting a flurry of discussions and reactions online.

Prajapat shared his experience in a video titled 'Selling Tea in Kumbh Mela.' The footage features him running a small tea stall, offering steaming cups of chai and bottled water to visitors. According to him, the morning hours were the most profitable, as a steady flow of people stopped by for a warm beverage. However, the business saw a slump in the afternoon, allowing him a break from the hectic rush.

As the evening approached, he adopted a new approach—venturing through the bustling fairgrounds to personally sell his tea to passersby. By the end of the day, he recorded total sales of Rs 7,000, ultimately securing a profit of Rs 5,000.


His revelation left social media users astonished. While some lauded his entrepreneurial spirit, others took a mathematical approach, attempting to estimate his potential monthly earnings. One user remarked, “If Rs 5,000 is earned in a day, that means Rs 1,50,000 in 30 days!” Echoing a similar thought, another questioned, “So he could make Rs 1,50,000 per month?” Meanwhile, a different commenter dubbed him “Kumbh Chaiwala,” referencing Dolly Chaiwala, a famous tea vendor from Nagpur who gained internet fame for his unique tea-making style.

Another user was intrigued by the possibility of trying out a similar venture, writing, “I believe this might work for me too.” Someone else was astonished by the high profit margin, exclaiming, “Rs 7,000 in sales and Rs 5,000 profit? That’s incredible!” Yet another joked, “This is tempting me to quit studying.”

Previously, a woman named Monalisa Bholse had also garnered significant online attention after a blogger shared her video on social media. However, unlike Prajapat, her sudden rise to fame didn’t translate into business success. Instead, she was compelled to leave Mahakumbh and return home due to the overwhelming crowds that her viral video had attracted.
