Madhuri Dixit-Nene offers to take Snapdeal boss out for some delicious ice apples in Mumbai

Snapdeal co-founder Kunal Bahl recently bagged a tadgoda-date with Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit-Nene.

On Sunday, Delhi-based Bahl asked for recommendations from his 284K followers on Twitter about the best place to find good quality ice apples in Mumbai.

The square-shaped jelly-like tadgoda is a fruit of the sugar palm tree. The tropical fruit has high water content and is known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and cooling properties.


The fruit, indigenous to parts of Southeast Asia and India, has various names. In Maharashtra, it is called tadgola. In Tamil Nadu, it is nungu, and taal in West Bengal. It is called munjaal in other parts of India.

The 39-year-old boss said that he had the fruit for the first time recently and was "astonished." "I had never eaten this amazing fruit before," he added.


In the next few hours, he received a reply from Dixit-Nene. The actress said that she would talk Bahl out for tadgoda when he is in the city.

"Lemme know when you are here and we will go together," she wrote.

A thrilled Bahl replied, "It's a deal!"


His Tadgola post received a huge response from others too.

RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka also tried to help Bahl and said that it was found in "every nook and corner" in Mumbai.


Many took to the comments section to share their opinion on the best way to eat the fruit.

One user suggested having the fruit chilled, while another introduced him to an orange tadgola, easily available at the Mumbai sabzi mandi.



Someone was even curious to find out how Bahl liked the taste of the fruit. The entrepreneur-turned-investor replied, "Was outstanding. Like all fruits, I am sure taste varies with quality."
