Madhavan is in awe of woman who shares her secret to looking 20 years younger in her 50s, reveals one supplement that can keep skin wrinkle-free, protect heart health
Stepping into your 50s need not be the end of having fun. While you can’t really prevent ageing, what you can do is relish your life as the grey hairs make themselves known. Dhurandhar star Madhavan recently took to Instagram to share a viral post...

Shared by a longevity influencer, Lena Carver, the post compared being in a friend group of 50-year-old women to basically a group chat with no consistency.
Rather than following one predictable path, everyone seemed to be living an entirely different chapter of life.
One woman could be busy sharing photographs of her newborn, while another might be proudly showing off pictures of her grandchild. Someone else could be marking two decades of marriage, whereas another friend may have just entered the world of online dating after joining Hinge.
And then there is the friend whose biggest achievement of the day is recovering from a painful back injury caused by nothing more dramatic than an overly forceful sneeze.
Amid all these contrasting stages of life, there is invariably one woman who appears to have somehow turned back the clock, looking even more youthful than she did two decades earlier.
That friend, according to the humorous post, is the one everyone secretly wants to become. She aimed to become that friend. She is drinking water, lifting weights, eating a protein-heavy diet, taking NAD supplements, working on having a healthy sleep pattern, and not stepping outside without sunscreen.
Lena explained that while getting old is inevitable, how we handle ageing and take care of ourselves and age with dignity and power is completely up to us.
Plastic surgeon Dr Leonard Hochstein explained the benefits of NAD+ therapy for older adults.
Supports Energy Production and Metabolism
NAD plays an important role in the body’s energy-making process by supporting the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the molecule responsible for transporting and supplying energy to cells. ATP helps transform nutrients from food into usable energy, making it a key component of a healthy metabolic system. As NAD levels naturally decline, cellular energy production and metabolic efficiency may also be affected. When combined with regular physical activity and a protein-rich, balanced diet, NAD therapy is sometimes promoted as a way to support cellular energy production, metabolic function, and healthy weight management.
May Support Stamina, Muscle Growth and Exercise Recovery
ATP does more than provide energy for everyday activities. It fuels cellular processes and helps power physical movement. Since NAD is involved in the pathways that produce ATP, maintaining adequate NAD availability may support energy levels and physical performance. As part of an overall fitness routine, NAD therapy may potentially help with exercise endurance, lessen feelings of fatigue and support the body’s ability to recover following strenuous workouts. Adequate nutrition, resistance training, and sufficient rest remain important for muscle development and recovery.
Potential Role in Pain Relief and Healing
NAD is also involved in several cellular processes associated with inflammation and tissue repair. Because excessive inflammation can contribute to discomfort and may occur with injuries or age-related changes, researchers have explored NAD-related pathways for their potential role in supporting the body’s healing processes.NAD therapy has therefore attracted interest as a possible approach for managing inflammation-related discomfort. However, evidence for its effectiveness as a pain treatment is still developing, and it should not automatically be considered a replacement for established pain-management options, including prescription treatments.
Great For Skin
NAD infusions can boost mitochondrial health. This automatically improves skin texture, removes fine lines, and tightens skin. NAD improves our collagen production and boosts keratin levels. Improving mitochondrial health also delays ageing.Boost Heart Health
NAD reduces cholesterol and inflammation, which affects the heart. The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
