Sivakarthikeyan's much-awaited action film Madharaasi has finally been released in theatres, marking his first film of 2025. Directed by A. R. Murugadoss, the movie created a massive buzz leading up to its release, as it is the first collaboration between the two popular names in Tamil cinema. Coming off the success of Ayalaan and Amaran in 2024, Sivakarthikeyan steps into a completely new zone with this intense action-packed thriller.

Madharaasi tells the story of Raghu, a man unwillingly drawn into a dangerous gun-smuggling network operating along the Tamil Nadu border. As the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that Raghu is battling a psychological issue, possibly split personality disorder, adding a dark twist to the narrative. Now, netizens have give their final verdict.

Netizens review Madharaasi

Soon after release, social media users began sharing their reviews. One viewer felt the film started off strong with a promising action setup but gradually lost momentum in the second half. They appreciated Sivakarthikeyan’s performance and the action sequences but felt that the romantic subplot disrupted the flow of the story. While they praised Murugadoss’s concept, they felt the execution could have been more impactful.

Another viewer commented that the first half of Madharaasi was engaging, while the second half had both highs and lows. They highlighted the non-stop action as a treat for fans of the genre, but also pointed out that some scenes lacked logic. Still, they called it a decent big-star entertainer.

A few fans called the film a solid action thriller and gave credit to the supporting cast, especially Rukmini Vasanth and Vidyut Jammwal. However, several pointed out that the second half dragged in places, affecting the overall impact.
