American tech giant Google is all geared up to launch the next generation of its smartphone line-up, the Pixel 8 series on October 4.

Where & When To Watch 'Made by Google' 2023 Event

The big reveal will happen at the 'Made by Google' event, which will kickstart at 7:30 PM IST in New York City, with an in-person audience.

For those unable to attend in person, Google will be live-streaming the event on its official website and YouTube channel, allowing tech enthusiasts from around the world to join in on the excitement.


The Big Reveal! Pixel 8 Series

The highlight of the event will be Google's latest smartphone offerings, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These devices are expected to have significant upgrades over their predecessors, with leaked specifications indicating major improvements in camera gear.

The Pixel 8 Pro, in particular, is rumoured to feature a 50MP wide lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens with Macro Focus, and a 48MP camera with a 5x telephoto lens. Both phones are set to be powered by Google's new Tensor G3 chip.

Beyond Timekeeping: The Pixel Watch 2

At the event, Google is also set to introduce the Pixel Watch 2, the successor to its original smartwatch. The Pixel Watch 2 is rumoured to incorporate advanced health tracking features, including a new heart rate tracker utilising Fitbit's multi-path heart rate sensor and a stress management system based on cEDA technology.

Further, the watch may automatically detect exercises such as running and outdoor cycling and feature a Safety Check option for user safety.

Sounds Of Innovation: Google Pixel Buds A Series 2

Accompanying the smartphone and smartwatch announcements are updates to the Pixel Buds A Series 2. These wireless earbuds are expected to come in new colours, including porcelain and possibly sky blue, offering users more customisation options.

Android 14 Sneak Peek

Besides the new hardware devices, Google is also speculated to make Android 14 official at the event.

The new OS will have a range of upgraded features, including passkeys, AI-generated wallpapers, larger text options, and stylus enhancements. There are even speculations about the ability to use the phone as a webcam.
