The Lust Stories franchise is returning with another set of stories about love, desire and complicated relationships. The anthology series has previously brought together some of India's biggest actors and filmmakers, using different stories to explore the many sides of modern relationships. Now, the third edition is ready to take the franchise forward with a fresh combination of directors and an ensemble cast. This time too, the stories are expected to look at emotions and relationships from different perspectives.

Lust Stories 3 brings four filmmakers together and streaming date revealed

Lust Stories 3 will premiere on Netflix on September 18. Netflix India announced the streaming date on Saturday, confirming that the anthology will arrive on the platform with four stories directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj. The film stars Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada.


The biggest attraction of Lust Stories 3 is the combination of four directors with very different filmmaking styles. Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj will each present one story as part of the anthology.

The four films will explore love, lust, relationships and repressed desire, while looking at contemporary emotions through individual perspectives. Instead of following one connected storyline, the anthology format allows each filmmaker to tell a separate story and approach relationships in their own way.

Netflix India’s Director of Original Films, Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, said the franchise has remained interesting because it does not repeat the same formula with every edition. According to her, each chapter starts with a familiar human emotion but takes it in a different direction.

That approach has been an important part of the Lust Stories franchise. Rather than giving audiences a single answer about relationships, the anthology leaves room for different reactions and interpretations.

The upcoming anthology has brought together a large ensemble of actors. Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari and Radhika Madan are among the leading names in the cast.

The film also features Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada. With actors from different generations and backgrounds coming together, the cast adds another layer of variety to the four stories.

Several of these actors have previously appeared in films and series dealing with complex relationships and emotional conflicts. Their presence in an anthology built around intimacy and desire makes the casting one of the key talking points ahead of its release.

Lust Stories 3 is produced by RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment. The four films are designed as separate stories, but they share a common focus on human relationships, desire and emotions that are not always easy to express.
