Losing the cup: When Diana Edulji regretted turning down an offer of tea in New Zealand
Edulji is a member of the board’s Committee of Administrators.

During the World Cup, Edulji has been appearing on a radio show, sharing her experiences of playing and travelling in the '70s and '80s. “We were touring New Zealand and were put up in homes of Indian families,” Edulji said recently. “In the evening, our host asked us if we wanted tea. Since we had already had tea, we declined.
A couple of hours later, it was dinner time. By now we were hungry. But nobody asked us for dinner. Mustering courage, we asked our hosts. They said they had asked us for tea, and we had said no. We realised then that in New Zealand, evening ‘tea’ meant dinner. After that, we never turned down another offer of tea.”
