‘Lock Upp’ star Karanvir Bohra booked for duping woman of Rs 1.99 cr

Renowned television actor Karanvir Bohra has been booked by the Mumbai Police for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 1.99 crore. The actor, last seen on the reality show ‘Lock Upp’, reportedly promised the woman to return the sum at 2.5 per cent interest.

A case has been registered against six people including Bohra for cheating the 40-year-old woman. According to ANI, the woman has claimed that only Rs 1 crore was returned by the actor.

The woman said that when she asked Bohra and his wife Tajinder Sidhu for the money, they did not respond properly. The woman said that the actor and his wife threatened to shoot her. The police have recorded statements of the complainant and have begun an investigation into the matter.

Bohra has appeared in several reality shows in the last few years. In his recent stint on ‘Lock Upp’, the actor had admitted that he was in debt and that he would have thought of suicide if he didn't have a family.

The actor had reportedly told other participants that he was facing a financial crisis and that he had cases filed against him for defaulting on loans. He had also admitted that all the shows he did since 2015 were to pay back all the money he took.

Earlier, the actor and his wife were in the news after they enrolled their twin girls in a school in Canada. The television star later admitted that it was one of the most difficult decisions for the couple as parents.
