Living it up! Indiabulls' Sameer Gehlaut hosts biz pals on yacht in Italy

Sameer Gehlaut sure knows how to make waves — and one is not referring to the ripple set off by the income tax raids on his company recently. A source in the know says that the Indiabulls chairman has been holidaying on his superyacht in Italy with prominent names from the Indian corporate and celebrity worlds. Sangita Jindal, chairperson of the JSW Foundation, was on his guest list. Lakshmi Mittal was invited too.

Gehlaut reportedly acquired the yacht in June this year. He was thrilled about the purchase and his entire family had travelled to the shipyard to take possession of the vessel.

Some in the rarefied circles of society refer to the vessel as a Louis Vuitton yacht. Whether the luxury goods maker has furnished the yacht or owned it previously is not known. Incidentally, Bernard Arnault, the LVMH chairman, is fond of yachts.

There is no official difference between a yacht and a superyacht, also known as a luxury yacht. But there is a general consensus about the sizes. Super yachts range in length from 120 ft (36m) up to 200 ft (60mplus). Megayachts are over 200 ft (60m+). Yachts over 300 ft (90m) are known by most as gigayachts. Most luxury yachts have a lower deck, main deck, upper deck and a sun deck, which often has a jacuzzi.
