Lilo & Stitch released on OTT in India: Where to watch Disney's blockbuster live-action movie. New language versions added

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch has returned in a live-action format and is winning over a new generation of fans. Released in May 2025, the film has already become a global box office sensation, earning over $1 billion worldwide. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the remake reintroduces audiences to the emotional and entertaining journey of Lilo, a spirited Hawaiian girl, and her older sister Nani, who adopt a mysterious blue alien, Stitch. The movie is currently streaming online, but the Kannada audience is facing an issue.

Lilo & Stitch OTT debut language versions

After its massive theatrical success, Lilo & Stitch has now made its OTT debut in India. The film is officially streaming on Jio Hotstar, much to the excitement of Indian fans who were eagerly waiting for its digital release. Initially, the platform announced that the movie would be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada.



However, when the film premiered, Kannada was missing from the audio options, leaving many viewers from Karnataka disappointed. On the other hand, Telugu, which was not part of the original announcement, surprisingly appeared on the platform, a last-minute inclusion that pleasantly surprised Telugu-speaking audiences. Jio Hotstar later confirmed the Telugu version with an official poster.

The film has earned praise for staying true to the spirit of the 2002 animated original, especially the strong emotional core and humour. The banter between Lilo and Nani, their shared love for Elvis Presley, and Stitch’s mischievous yet lovable nature all contribute to the film.


The live-action version also had an impressive opening at the box office, earning $146 million in its first weekend, outperforming major titles like Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Riding on this success, Disney has confirmed that a sequel is in development, with Chris Sanders returning as the screenwriter.
