Tanushree Dutta Shares Emotional Plea Amid Ongoing Harassment Allegations
Tanushree Dutta, the actress known for igniting the #MeToo movement in India, recently took to social media with a tearful video, claiming that she is facing constant harassment within her own residence. Visibly distraught, she stated that she had already approached the police, seeking protection and action against the troubling incidents. Her video rapidly made rounds across platforms, drawing widespread concern and shock from fans and the public. In the emotionally charged video, Tanushree can be seen crying uncontrollably.

In an interview with News 18, she expressed that she feels unsafe and targeted, drawing parallels to the tragic case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, whose death in 2020 stirred nationwide anger and raised questions about pressures within the entertainment industry.

According to her, a similar plot may be unfolding against her, which has pushed her to fear for her life.

“Like Sushant Singh Rajput, there is an attempt to kill me too," she said.

Allegations of Surveillance and Internal Threats
Tanushree further alleged that her own home is no longer a safe space. She claimed that there had been attempts to spy on her, and shockingly, she suspected that a domestic helper had been strategically placed in her household to monitor her activities. She also said the maid stole from her. Declaring her intention to take legal action, she mentioned she would be filing an official police complaint about the breach of her privacy and these disturbing developments.

Reiterating her fears, the actress pointed to a powerful and hidden network within the film world, which she believes has been actively trying to harm her. She stated that the so-called “Bollywood mafia” was the force behind her current situation, and she earnestly appealed to the authorities for immediate security and protection.

Backlash and Online Scrutiny
Following the release of her video, an Instagram user questioned the authenticity of her claims, suggesting that Tanushree might be doing this for publicity. Though the comment was framed politely, the user speculated that the actress was perhaps seeking attention. In response, Tanushree firmly addressed the user by pointing out the account's suspicious creation, hinting that it may have been made solely to discredit her.

In her Instagram caption accompanying the video, she conveyed her exhaustion and helplessness. She revealed that the harassment she has been enduring dates back to 2018, when she first came forward with her #MeToo allegations. She emphasized that she had reached her breaking point and had no choice but to contact the police again for intervention, pleading for someone to help before matters spiral further.

Accusations Against Family Members

Later that same evening, Tanushree shared that the distressing behavior was not just coming from strangers or outsiders but from people within her own family. She mentioned considering taking legal steps against certain relatives, whom she believes may be involved in mentally distressing her. The tone of her statement and her visible emotions added a layer of urgency to her claims.

A Look Back at Her #MeToo Battle
For those unfamiliar with her earlier ordeal, Tanushree had accused veteran actor Nana Patekar in 2018 of sexually harassing her on the set of the 2008 film Horn Ok Please. Although she officially filed a complaint in 2018, Patekar was cleared of the charges in 2019 by police authorities.

Where She Stands Today
Tanushree, who was once known for films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Dhol, and Good Boy Bad Boy, has been away from the screen for over a decade. Her last appearance was in the 2013 show SuperCops Vs Super Villains. However, the turbulence in her personal life continues to draw attention, raising fresh questions about accountability, safety, and mental health in the entertainment world.
