Lexus brings luxury SUV, RX450hL, to India at Rs 99 lakh
RX 450hL is BS-VI compliant, and features V6 Atkinson Cycle engine.

NEW DELHI: Lexus India launched all-new luxury SUV, RX450hL, in Bangalore, priced at Rs 99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The car will be available for booking this month.
RX 450hL is BS-VI compliant, and features V6 Atkinson Cycle engine. The engine comes with Dual VVT-i and advanced D-4S fuel injection system for better performance, fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
The vehicle comes with a new exterior, 3.5-litre engine, and character line that runs from the front to rear. One of the biggest changes made to the car are changes to the suspension and increased body rigidity.
The RX is packed with features like touch-display screen, Lexus-original remote touch interface, smartphone usage, phone holder, USB port, and connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system installed in RX will allow voice control via native cloud connection, or customers’ smartphones to Apple Siri or Google Assistant. Users can also select either Lexus navigation or smartphone versions for navigating.
During the launch on Thursday, PB Venugopal, President of Lexus India, said that he is confident that the improved technology, premium design and attractive pricing will make RX 450hL a desirable car for customers. He confirmed that the car is a self-charging, hybrid, electric vehicle that offers luxury, space, quietness and craftsmanship. "The vehicle will elevate the senses with every moment of the journey," he added.
The company claims better steering response and riding comfort. The RX is also equipped with Active Cornering Assist (ACA) which results in a linear steering experience. The redesigned shock absorbers come with a new Friction Control Device (FCD) for reducing high-frequency vibrations caused due to uneven surface of the road. The shock absorbers also enable the car to conduct flat cornering, and achieve exceptional responsiveness.
The new vehicle has a theater-style seating, and energy-efficient L-shaped LED lamps with integrated LED DRL. As per the company, the advanced LED turn signal lamps illuminate sequentially from the inner side to the outside of the headlamps. The car firm even claims that the LED lamps integrated into the front bumper reduce power consumption while providing a bright beam, allowing excellent visibility for safe driving during night.
