Leonardo DiCaprio was last seen in One Battle After Another.
Fresh off the Oscars 2026, Leonardo DiCaprio is back at making the headlines. This time, it is not for his moustache but for a new film, although both are interlinked. To break it down, the 51-year-old surprised everyone when he attended the 98th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, on March 15, sporting a moustache. A certain section of the masses even joked that he had stolen fellow actor Pedro Pascal’s moustache. But the truth, as it turns out, is that DiCaprio has been growing out his moustache for ace director Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film, What Happens at Night.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s next film

A few days ago, Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese dropped a joint post on Instagram, sharing the first look from What Happens at Night. The film marks DiCaprio’s and Scorsese’s seventh film together. They have previously worked together in The Aviator, Gangs of New York, The Wolf of Wall Street and Shutter Island, to name a few. Jennifer Lawrence, who shared screen space with DiCaprio in the 2021 comedy sci-fi Don’t Look Up, has also been roped in for the movie.

The first look of What Happens at Night does not reveal much. It shows Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence holding hands, gazing at something in the distance against a snowy backdrop. Behind them is a jeep covered in thick snow. According to a report by Variety, the two play a married couple in the ‘haunted’ drama film. Besides the leading duo, What Happens at Night also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and Jared Harris.

More about Leonardo DiCaprio and his film

What Happens at Night is adapted from the same-titled novel by Peter Cameron. The story, rooted in mystery, revolves around an American couple who travel to a small town in Europe so that they can adopt a baby. But as per the synopsis in the book, nothing is what meets the eye in the frozen landscape. While trying to adopt the baby, the couple find out secrets about their marriage, themselves and life in general. What Happens at Night is currently under production.

In other news, Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in One Battle After Another. It marked the actor’s eighth career Oscar nomination. He bagged an Academy Award in 2016 for The Revenant. Although DiCaprio did not win Best Actor, with Michael B. Jordan taking home the honour for his performance in the horror-action, Sinners, One Battle After Another received six awards, including Best Picture.
