Learning from the pro! When Mahesh Bhupathi taught Rohan Bopanna how to handle pressure
As Rohan Bopanna readies to battle it out at Roland Garros in May to defend his French Open mixed-doubles title, there must be a lot on his mind. Given that he has played with some of the best in the game, ET Panache asked him to name a mentor he admired the most. His answer? Mahesh Bhupathi.

“I learnt the most from him [Bhupathi] He was such an experienced player when I started playing with him. All the advice he has given me, has helped me better my game,” Bopanna said.

Being the first Indian to win a Grand Slam, Bhupathi has pointers on handling pressure, which he has passed on to Bopanna as well. “Irrespective of the situation, Bhupathi taught me to handle pressure, right there, in the moment.”.
