Change comes from within. But giving it a new spin is DBS Bank CEO Surojit Shome. While most top bankers have plush corner offices, Shome has given up his cabin, in a bid to make the organisation more agile and innovative.

The Singaporean bank is moving its India headquarters to Nariman Point and has adopted this new open office layout. While Shome was initially assigned a cabin he opted for non-fixed seating, which means there are no individually marked work desks. Meanwhile, the cabin meant for him will now be used for meetings. That’s what it means to lead by example.
