Lava launches Icon smartphone featuring Star OS at Rs 11,990
NEW DELHI: Home-bred mobile phone maker Lava Thursday expanded its device range with the launch of the 'Icon' smartphone and priced it at Rs 11,990.

Icon is available at selected retail stores in India. Lava has tied-up with Snapdeal.com to sell the device online. Snapdeal will be offering a free selfie stick to all consumers ordering from Snapdeal.com

The device runs a new customized Android 4.4 Kitkat based operating system, Star OS.

"With Lava’s Star OS built on Android platform, users can add a variety of customizable gesture controls like the drawing shortcuts function. The user may draw certain letters on the display in sleep mode and link these to launch various tasks within the device," the company said in a statement.

It features a 13 MP rear camera with SONY EXMOR sensor and a 5 MP rear camera.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad Core Processor and 2GB RAM and comes equipped with 16 GB memory, which is expandable up to 32GB. It features a 5 inch HD IPS display with Asahi Dragon-Trail glass and comes equipped with a 2500 mAh battery.On the connectivity front, the Icon offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth.
