Launchpad: Micromax Bolt D303, Zen Sonic 1 and Karbonn Aura feature this week

Micromax Bolt D303 has a partnership with Firstouch, Zen Sonic 1 is available on EMI at eBay, Karbonn Aura has a large screen. Here are the other features:

Micromax Bolt D303: What makes this entry-level smartphone unique is the partnership with Firstouch: you can swipe right to translate (or transliterate) text from one regional language to another using the special messaging app. It even includes the Firstouch App Bazaar that provides access to over 10,000 regional applications. It’s a dual SIM phone, has a 4-inch display (800 x 480 pixels) and runs Android 4.4. Inside is a 1.3Ghz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage and a 1,300mAh battery. Other features include 10 regional languages built in, dual cameras (3.2MP rear, VGA front camera), expandable storage (up to 32GB microSD cards are supported), 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Zen Sonic 1: Available exclusively on eBay India, the Zen Sonic 1 is a 5-inch Android phone (800 x 480 pixels) with a 1.3Ghz quad core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable, up to 32GB micro SD cards are supported). It comes with Android Lollipop, dual cameras (5MP + 2MP) and is priced quite affordably considering the hardware. The phone will also be offered with EMI schemes.

Karbonn Aura: If you thought that large screens equals higher prices, think again. Karbonn’s Aura gives you a 5-inch IPS LCD screen at a sub Rs 5k price. Although it is a capacitive multitouch screen, resolution is low (854 x 480 pixels). It is powered by a 1.2Ghz quad core processor, 512MB RAM and 8GB storage (expandable, up to 32GB cards are supported). It runs Android KitKat (no word on upgrades), has dual cameras (5MP rear & 2MP front), supports 3G networks and has a 2,000mAh battery for all-day use.
