Latest Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada OTT releases of the week: I, Nobody to Pluto, new movies and shows on Netflix, JioHotstar, Prime Video, ZEE5 and more

This week has a little bit of everything for South Indian cinema fans on OTT. There is a crime thriller waiting for Prithviraj Sukumaran fans, a social drama about young people struggling to find jobs, a Malayalam hip-hop reality show and even an unusual friendship between a directionless man and an alien. From films making their streaming debut to a show bringing underground rap into the spotlight, here are the latest Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu releases to add to your watchlist.

I, Nobody – JioHotstar

Prithviraj Sukumaran's I, Nobody will make its digital debut on JioHotstar on August 25, 2026. Directed by Nisam Basheer, the crime thriller originally arrived in theatres on July 9, 2026, but received a mixed response and did not make the expected impact at the box office.


The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead roles, with Hakkim Shajahan, Ashokan, Vijayaraghavan, Madhupal and Shankar Ramakrishnan in important parts.

I, Nobody was released in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. However, the complete details about the languages that will be available on its OTT release have not yet been announced. For viewers who missed the film in theatres, its digital release offers a chance to catch the Nisam Basheer-directed thriller from home.

Aakali Rajyam – Aha Video

The Telugu-Tamil social drama Aakali Rajyam is set to premiere on Aha Video on August 28, 2026. Directed by Neelagiri Mamilla, the film stars Vikas Vasishta, Geet Sayini and Rajesh Khanna.

The story follows three friends who move to Hyderabad hoping to build better lives but soon find themselves facing one rejection after another while searching for jobs. Unemployment, financial pressure and social expectations make their journey increasingly difficult.

Instead of allowing these setbacks to break them, the three friends turn their shared struggles into motivation. They eventually come together to start a modern youth movement, using innovation and new ideas to find opportunities in a system that seems determined to hold them back.

Kerala Underground – ZEE5

For those looking for something completely different, Kerala Underground will stream on ZEE5 from August 28, 2026.

The upcoming musical reality show is hosted by Aathira Rajeev and brings together 10 emerging Malayalam rappers. Instead of following a conventional singing competition format, the show focuses on the state's underground hip-hop scene.

Contestants will compete through rap battles, personal storytelling and elimination challenges as they attempt to win the title of Kerala's ultimate underground champion. Artists including Dabzee, MC Couper, Imbachi and Parimal Shais are associated with the show.

The series could offer viewers a closer look at a growing Malayalam rap culture while giving emerging performers a platform to showcase their writing, performance skills and individual styles.

Pluto – Saina Play

If an alien landing in a Kerala village sounds like the beginning of an unusual comedy, Pluto is exactly that kind of film. The Malayalam sci-fi comedy is already streaming on Saina Play from August 24, 2026.

Directed by Adithya Chandrasekhar, the film stars Neeraj Madhav, Althaf Salim, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Aju Varghese, Subin Tarzan, Dinesh Prabhakar and Nimna Fathoomi.

The story follows Vicky, a directionless man in his thirties whose attempts at finding stability have repeatedly failed. His ordinary life takes a strange turn when an extraterrestrial visitor crash-lands in a Kerala village and loses his spacecraft.

Vicky names the alien Pluto and soon discovers that his new companion is hardly the confident, all-powerful extraterrestrial one might expect. Pluto is just as helpless and confused as Vicky.

Their unlikely friendship becomes even more complicated when local businessman and criminal Tiger Thambi learns about the alien and decides to capture him for profit. Vicky and Pluto are then forced to stay ahead of Thambi and his men while trying to recover the spacecraft and help Pluto get back home.

Newton's 3rd Law - ETV Win
Sumanth-starrer Newton’s 3rd Law, which recently released in theatres, is now set for its digital premiere on ETV Win. Directed by Rajesh Karna and produced by Harish Kohirkar, the crime thriller will start streaming on August 27, 2026. The film also features Jagapathi Babu, Srinivas Avasarala, Trinadh Varma and Ravi Varma in key roles, with music composed by Sinjith Yerramilli. The OTT release could help the film reach a wider audience.
