Lata Mangeshkar turns 90: Big B records 7 min-long video for legend; Dharmendra recites poem

Music legend Lata Mangeshkar, whose voice has serenaded millions for years, turned 90 on Saturday. Celebrating the day, Bollywood took to social media to shower love and wish the singer.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan had a special message for Mangeshkar, which he conveyed via a seven minute long video posted on his Facebook account. Wishing her a very happy birthday, he said, "Lataji aapke suro ke bina sangeet adhoora hai (Music is incomplete without your voice)."
Actor-politician Dharmendra also recorded a video for the singer, in which he recites a poem dedicated to her.


From actor Anil Kapoor to composer AR Rahman, social media was flooded with wishes for the singer.

Kapoor thanked her for the 'melodies and memories', and Rahman said, "Huge respect and love for what you have given us."


Her singer-sister Asha Bhosle tweeted an old picture of the two with beautiful message, "For me, every day is special with Didi."


Actor Rishi Kapoor, who recently returned to India after undergoing cancer treatment in New York, shared a picture of his family posing with the legend.


Not just B-town, President of India Ram Nath Kovind also shared a picture with the singing legend, wishing her 'good health and happiness'.


Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also posed an emotional video for the legend, saying rarely would have a day passed in his life, when he didn't listen to a song by her.


The veteran made her professional singing debut in 1943 with the movie 'Gajabha', and has since left fans, and critics, awe-struck with her voice.
