Lamar Odom opens up about heartfelt reunion with Khloé Kardashian, says 'A blessing just to be her friend'

In an unexpected twist, Lamar Odom is teasing a heartwarming reunion with his ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, set to unfold in the upcoming season of The Kardashians. In a candid interview with a Australian radio show The Kyle & Jackie O Show on January 20, the 45-year-old former NBA star shared the behind-the-scenes details of his surprise meeting with Khloé, which will be featured in season 6 of the hit Hulu series.

The reunion, long anticipated by fans, was made possible thanks to the efforts of Lamar's friend and Khloé's closest confidante, Malika Haqq. According to Lamar, Malika played a key role in reconnecting him with Khloé, suggesting it was time for the two to finally meet again after years apart. “I bumped into her in Las Vegas during Super Bowl weekend,” Lamar revealed. “She came to me and said, ‘Lamar, I think it’s time for you and Khloé to meet... it’s been years.’"



The reunion, which featured Lamar arriving at Khloé’s Hidden Hills mansion with a bouquet of red roses, was a moment of bittersweet nostalgia. However, Lamar confessed he wasn’t initially aware that the encounter would be captured on camera for the show. “I went there, and there were cameras. I was like, ‘Oh, all right,’” he said, noting he understood the nature of the filming.

Despite the cameras rolling, Lamar was quick to clarify the current state of his relationship with Khloé, denying any possibility of reconciliation. "It would be a blessing just to be her friend," he said. "So much time has passed, and we’ve both changed—for the better."

When pressed by radio host Kyle Sandilands about whether he still had feelings for Khloé, Lamar took a mature approach. "I think it’s healthy sometimes to move on in a healthy way," he responded, emphasizing that being able to stay in touch as friends was enough for him.

The couple’s whirlwind romance captured the public’s attention when they married in September 2009 after only one month of dating. Their love story played out on the reality show Khloé & Lamar until their separation in 2013. Despite their divorce, Khloé supported Lamar through a life-threatening health crisis after he overdosed at a Nevada brothel. After years of healing, their divorce was finalized in 2016.
