At just 28, Kylie Jenner stands out as the youngest self-made woman billionaire, with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion. A small but influential group of seven women billionaires has emerged from the worlds of entertainment and social media, according to Hurun Research. This list is led by Oprah Winfrey ($3.8 billion), followed by names like Kim Kardashian ($2.2 billion, Skims), Taylor Swift ($1.6 billion), Rihanna ($1.5 billion), J.K. Rowling ($1.3 billion), Jenner, and Beyoncé ($1 billion). While media remains dominant, there is a clear shift toward consumer-driven ventures such as beauty and fashion brands, where ownership plays a key role in wealth creation.

Among the 150 self-made women billionaires globally, only 10 are under 40, three are below 35, and Jenner is the sole billionaire under 30—highlighting how rare such early success is.

Despite these successes, women account for only 6% of the world’s 2,600 self-made billionaires. However, their growing presence in sectors like healthcare and semiconductors signals a gradual but meaningful shift in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Kylie Jenner has built a significant share of her fortune through her beauty venture, Kylie Cosmetics, making her among the most financially successful members of the Jenner-Kardashian family. Kylie Jenner's half-sister, Kim Kardashian's wealth is pegged at $2.2 billion by Hurun.

Kylie Jenner launched the brand in 2015, transforming a personal passion into a global business. Jenner has often credited her early fascination with YouTube makeup tutorials as the spark behind the idea, saying makeup helped her gain confidence as a teenager. Today, she leverages a massive digital presence — hundreds of millions of followers across Instagram and tens of millions on Twitter — to market her products directly, turning social media influence into a powerful revenue engine.

Jenner has 390 million followers on Instagram and 37.5 million followers on Twitter.
