The wait is finally over for fans of gritty crime dramas. The makers of Kohrra have officially announced Season 2, unveiling the first poster and confirming that the much-loved series is returning with a new chapter. Headlined by Barun Sobti, the Punjabi police procedural made a strong impression with its debut season, earning praise for its layered storytelling, setting and powerful performances. With Season 2, the creators promise a fresh case, new cast, a new city and deeper emotional conflicts, while keeping the raw tone that set the show apart.

Kohrra Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on February 11, 2026. The announcement was made by Netflix India, which also shared the first official poster of the upcoming season. The poster features Barun Sobti alongside Mona Singh, both seen intensely studying a case file.


Barun Sobti returns as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Jasjit Singh, fondly known as Garundi, a character that quickly became a fan favourite in Season 1. This time, the story takes Garundi out of Jagrana and places him in a new location. He is transferred to the Dalerpura Police Station, where he must adjust to a different environment and a new chain of command. Joining the series is Mona Singh, who plays Dhanwant Kaur, a senior and uncompromising officer who becomes Garundi’s new boss.

Season 2 revolves around a disturbing murder mystery involving a brutally killed and dismembered woman found in her brother’s house. As Garundi and Dhanwant Kaur team up to solve the case, the investigation forces them to confront not only dark family secrets but also their own unresolved pasts. Despite their contrasting personalities, both officers share a relentless commitment to their work, often throwing themselves into cases even as personal walls begin to crack.


Like its first season, Kohrra continues to explore the darker undercurrents of life in Punjab. The new season promises to dig deeper into themes such as fractured families, mental health struggles and the quiet violence that often exists beneath seemingly ordinary lives.

Showrunner and director Sudip Sharma, who is also known for creating Paatal Lok, said the new season stays true to the emotional core of the series. He shared that while Season 1 focused on subtle tensions between people and their pasts, Season 2 continues that approach with a strong sense of authenticity.

According to him, the characters remain deeply rooted in real emotions that audiences across the country can relate to, even as the story unfolds against a dark and intense backdrop.

Season 2 is directed by Sudip Sharma along with Faisal Rehman and is produced by Saurabh Malhotra, Sudip Sharma, Manuj Mittra and Tina Tharwani. With a new setting, a compelling central mystery and the addition of Mona Singh to the cast, fans now can't wait for Kohrra Season 2. Stay tuned!
