CHANDIGARH: Actress Kirron Kher, who is seeking re-election from Chandigarh, on Thursday filed her nomination. The BJP MP was accompanied by her actor-husband Anupam Kher as she completed the formalities.
In a series of tweets, the 63-year-old actress thanked the chief ministers of Haryana and Uttarakhand - M L Khattar and T S Rawat respectively - and senior BJP functionary Sanjay Tandon for their support. Inspired by the "love and affection" that she had received from the constituency of Chandigarh, she said that she was confident of winning the 2019 Lok Sabha polls by a bigger margin.

The Khers were seen travelling in an open jeep as they headed to file the nomination. The incumbent MP also offered prayers at the Sector-34 gurudwara, followed by a discussion at the local Press Club on her tenure as a lawmaker.

Earlier on Wednesday, Anupam Kher had posted a video on social media, seeking wishes from fans. The "A Wednesday" actor had also tweeted about meeting the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat at the airport.
