Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s marriage officially ended in 2022, following her divorce filing in February 2021. The former couple share four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. A judge declared Kim Kardashian legally single in March 2022. Looking back at the years that followed, Kim told The Times that she “was single for five years” and “needed to heal”. The interview, published on October 3, also highlighted how much of that period was devoted to motherhood and her expanding professional life. Rather than presenting singledom as a gap that needed to be filled, Kardashian described it as a period in which she could concentrate on what mattered to her.

Her professional life continued to expand during those years. Skims, the shapewear company she co-founded in 2019, has grown into a major business, while Kardashian has also continued studying law and developing her acting career.

Her Children Remained A Major Focus

Kardashian's life after West has also continued to revolve heavily around her four children. In September, she shared a collection of throwback photographs of North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, writing that “the days are long but the years are short”. People reported that the post came as Kardashian continued balancing motherhood with her expanding television and business commitments.

Her relationship with West has also evolved into a co-parenting arrangement. The former couple were recently seen separately supporting their daughter North at her debut solo concert in Chicago, demonstrating how their children remain a point of connection despite their divorce.

Then Came Lewis Hamilton

Kim Kardashian's relationship with Hamilton did not begin with two strangers suddenly meeting. The pair had been moving in the same social circles for more than a decade. According to ELLE, they were photographed together as far back as 2014, when both were in relationships with other people. Their connection resurfaced publicly in early 2026, when they were linked after appearances in the Cotswolds and Paris.

They were subsequently seen together at the 2026 Super Bowl, travelled to Japan and appeared together at Coachella. By June, Kardashian publicly acknowledged the relationship on Instagram, while Hamilton later referred to her during an appearance at the British Grand Prix.

The timing has made Kardashian's comments about her single years particularly notable. In November 2025, she had already spoken on The Kardashians about becoming comfortable on her own, saying that sharing her bed or television routine with someone else had become less appealing. She also made clear that she remained a romantic at heart, saying that she would be ready when the right person came along.

Hamilton's arrival therefore came after a period in which Kardashian says she deliberately prioritised healing rather than searching for a partner. Recent months have offered glimpses of how the relationship has developed. In September, Hamilton shared photographs from dates with Kardashian, including an outdoor movie night and a sunset cruise in Paris. People reported that the pair had been friends for more than a decade before their romance became public.

Kardashian's story has moved from divorce and singledom to motherhood, business and, eventually, a new relationship.
