Kim Kardashian edges out Beyoncé on Instagram

Queen Bee has been dethroned, at least temporarily. Kim Kardashian West with 44.2 million followers claimed the top spot on Instagram after spending weeks steadily gaining on Beyoncé, who now has 44 million followers.

Both the curvy beauties post a variety of pictures including pictures of their famous rapper husbands, complicated extended families and adorable daughters. However, as Instagram users have noticed, Kim is more regular with her posts and wordier with her captions, which probably give her the edge.

Other celebrities in the top ten most-followed Instagrammers include four others from the Kardashian-Jenner clan — Kendall, Kylie and Khloé — and pop stars such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber.
