Though Kardashian enjoyed a fairytale romance with West, their separation has been messy.

Despite what is going on with the 45-year-old American rapper and his controversies, Kardashian said that she shields their children from what plays out online.
Since her divorce settled with rapper Kanye West last month, the TV reality star Kim Kardashian is finally speaking out about her divorce and how messy raising four kids with an ex-partner is.
In a podcast with Angie Martinez on her 'IRL' which was recorded earlier but published on Monday, the 42-year-old reality star said that co-parenting her four young children with West, who now goes by the name Ye, is "really hard".
"Co-parenting is hard," says Kardashian, who found fame after her reality TV show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashian' became an instant hit on TV.
"It's really f***ing hard," she adds.
Kardashian and West are co-parents to daughters North (9), Chicago (4), and sons Saint (6) and Psalm (3) While talking about what it's like being a parent, Kardashian remembered her late father, Robert Kardashian who passed away in 2003.
The TV star became emotional as she called her late father the "best dad" with whom she had the greatest experience, adding that that's what she wants for her children.

"I had the best dad, and I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that's all I want for my kids," said Kardashian, the founder of KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance and co-founder of Skims.
Though Kardashian enjoyed a fairytale romance with West, their separation seems to be rocky as the rapper has made many shocking statements in the past against the mother of his children and her family among other people.
On the show, the TV personality revealed that she tries her best to keep all the noise and drama away from her kids. Despite what is going on with the 45-year-old American rapper and his controversies, Kardashian said that she shields their children from what plays out online. The reason behind this decision is simple, the kids are not yet ready to deal with the grown-up stuff, she added.

"If they don't know things that are being said, why would I ever bring that energy to them? That is real, heavy, grown-up s*** that they are not ready to deal with," she said.
She further said that her kids will one day thank her for not thrash-talking their father, who has often made accusations against Kardashian and her family. on social media or during interviews. "When they are, we will have those conversations. One day, my kids will thank me for not sitting here and bashing their dad. I could," she added.

"I definitely protected him," she said in the interview, "and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. So, in my home, my kids don't know anything that goes on (in) the outside world."
The former celebrity couple finalised their highly-publicised divorce in November, following West's on-and-off social media play-by-play of the situation.
