The 55th Kerala State Film Awards 2025 turned into a night of glory for Manjummel Boys and Bramayugam, as both films swept top honours. From Mammootty’s commanding performance to Shamla Hamza’s breakout role, the event was a power-packed showcase of talent, storytelling, and cinematic brilliance — the kind that keeps Malayalam cinema at the top of its game.

The much-anticipated awards were announced at a press conference in Thrissur, chaired by Fisheries, Culture, and Youth Welfare Minister Saji Cherian. A total of 128 films vied for this year’s recognition, of which 26 made it to the final shortlist. As per reports, the seven-member jury, headed by veteran actor Prakash Raj, spent days screening four to five films daily, engaging in deep discussions before locking in the best of the best.
