Do you spend a few hours in a car on a daily basis? Even though you are inside a closed cabin, you are exposed to a lot of pollutants, odours and germs. This is why different brands are now launching car air purifiers and Kent is the latest with this — they call it the Magic Car Air Purifier. It has a flat, rectangular design with air intake vents on top and exhaust vents on the sides.
Underneath are four rubber feet (to prevent it from slipping if placed on the dashboard). The cover on top is removable and hides the filter unit. There are no buttons on the air purifier — only a cable that connects to the car 12V socket. To control fan speed, you can use the single button on the 12V plug. While this gives a clean look to the purifier, it might not be very comfortable for cars which have 12V sockets in odd positions.
The device uses a HEPA and carbon filter; it's a compound filter with these two merged into a single filter unit. In our usage, we noticed that after 30 to 40 minutes, the air quality of the car improved from 300 AQI to 50 — we used an air quality monitor to track the change. Improvement in the quality of air was noticeable within 10 minutes of using the purifier itself. It will also take care of various odours (fuel smells, VOCs, stale cigarette smoke) that one usually has to bear while travelling.
Although Kent claims noiseless operation, it can get loud when used on high speed. If you listen to music, it won't be an issue, but if you are using Bluetooth to take a call, you will notice the fan noise.
Replacing the filters is recommended after six months of usage and a replacement costs `1,000. This is comparable to competitors in the market.

Rings
Game for iOS
Get it for: Free
If you loved playing tic-tac-toe (or noughts and crosses, if you prefer), chances are that you will love this simple game too. Rings is based on a 3x3 grid, and like tic-tac-toe, you have to get three in a row to score. The difference is that Rings doesn’t stop when you get three in a row and you are not playing against anyone.
The objective is simple: you are presented with sets of coloured rings (sometimes two or three concentric rings in different colours). You have to place them on the grid you choose. When you get three rings of the same colour on any one row (vertical, horizontal, diagonal), they disappear and you earn points. There are no levels as such — it just keeps getting harder as you play and the game is over when you can’t place any more rings on the grid. If you are connected to the internet, you will see banner ads while playing — to get rid of the ads permanently, you can make a one-time in-app purchase of `120. It’s a fun, quick game with a minimal learning curve.
