In a candid conversation with Galatta India, Keerthy shared the cultural significance behind her choice of wearing the thread. She mentioned that the sacred thread, tied during her wedding ceremony, is traditionally not removed until an auspicious date is chosen for its replacement with a gold chain. While this transition typically happens within a week or ten days, the absence of a suitable date has delayed the change until the end of January. Her decision reflects her respect for tradition, even as she balances her professional commitments.

Keerthy Suresh elaborated on her choice to continue wearing the turmeric thread during promotions, emphasizing its sacred significance and the tradition of it being tied to touch the chest, symbolizing power and protection. While some suggested she could conceal it to better match her promotional attire, she embraced the look and thought it looked “hot” expressing confidence and pride in showcasing the thread until it is replaced with a gold chain.
