KAYAK reveals 10 must-go destinations to make your Instagram lively

NEW DELHI: Travel search engine KAYAK has released the " Better-Now-Than-Later" report for travel trendsetters in Asia Pacific on Friday which reveals the next ten destinations deserving of a top spot in your year-end and 2018 travel checklists.

The report looks at destinations outside of the usual top-searched destinations*, instead focusing on the holiday hotspots with the greatest increase in interest among Indian travellers.

Abhijit Mishra, country director, India at KAYAK, said: "We often see different groups of friends posting about the same destinations at the same time on social media, but there are many other must-go destinations that are equally Instagram-worthy."

The report shows that Ko Samui, whilst only ranking as the 152nd most popular destination amongst Indian travellers, ranked first in the emerging destinations rankings, registering a year-on-year growth of 225%, followed by Cairo (+214% year-on-year) and Venice (+207% year-on-year).

Also numbering amongst the top ten emerging destinations for Indians are Prague, in the Czech Republic, Penang, Malaysia, and the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.

For domestic Indian destinations, the report recognises Guwahati (154% year-on-year), Thiruvananthapuram (146% year-on-year), Port Blair (138% year-on-year), Dehradun (134% year-on-year) and Jodhpur (104% year-on-year) as the top up-and-coming destinations.
