Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' scores Rs 123 cr at the box-office, Aayushmann Khurrana's 'Anek' struggles to cross Rs 10 cr

Bollywood sensation Kartik Aaryan is all smiles. The actor’s latest release ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ has broken all box-office records. The film directed by Anees Bazmee has crossed Rs 100 crore at the box office with a solid performance in the second week.

According to noted film analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film will soon touch Rs 175 crore marks.
On the contrary, stars seem to be not aligning for Ayushmann Khurranna as his latest release ‘Anek’ has been struggling to cross Rs 10 crore. The action thriller directed by Anubhav Sinha is based on an undercover police mission in the North East.


The film made on a budget of Rs 45 crore was released on May 27, 2022. The film only grossed Rs 2.11 crore on its opening day. In three days, the movie has been able to manage only around Rs 6.50 crore. ‘Anek’ is also the second collaboration between Sinha and Khurranna.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is beaming. The actor recently took to social media to share a picture of him smiling. “100 crore wali smile #BhoolBhulaiyaa2 (Rs 100 crore smile),” he captioned the image.

The film also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav. Besides, the Aaryan has a string of interesting films such as ‘Shehzada’, ‘Captain India’, ‘Freddy’ and ‘Sajid Nadiadwala’s next releasing later this year.

The success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ is seen as a positive sign for the Hindi film industry according to trade pundits. The film's dream run at the box-office has dispelled the dry spell cast by the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.
