Kartik Aaryan & Kiara Advani-starrer 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' crosses Rs 38 cr in opening weekend

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha' has crossed the Rs 38 crore-mark at the opening weekend at the domestic box-office.

Production house Namah Pictures took to social media to share the Day 4 collection of the movie. The musical romance drama, directed by National award-winning film-maker Sameer Vidwans, minted Rs 12.15 crore on the fourth day since its release on June 29.

With this figure, the total opening weekend collection comes to Rs 38.50 crore at the box office.


Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' minted Rs 9.25 crore on the opening day, followed by Rs 7 crore on day two, and Rs 10.10 on day three, according to the makers.


Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha' held the fort despite competition from the Punjabi film 'Carry On Jatta 3', which has performed exceptionally in North India - especially in Delhi and Punjab.

The film critic said that the movie has to perform strongly on weekdays to fight its "mighty opponent." "The advantage is, the absence of major films for the next few weeks, hence an uninterrupted run can prove beneficial… It’s a wait-and-watch situation right now," he tweeted.

Another film trade analyst Sumit Kadel said that Aaryan has delivered one of his career's biggest weekends with 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha'. In fact, he also pointed out that it is one of the top 5 films to have a rocking weekend in 2023.

'Satyaprem Ki Katha' is helmed by National award-winning film-maker Sameer Vidwans, known for the critically-acclaimed 2019 Marathi drama 'Anandi Gopal'.

The movie also stars Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. It marks Aaryan and Advani's second movie after their blockbuster horror comedy 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'.
