Kartik Aaryan is finally a graduate! 'Bhool Bhulaiyya' star gives engineering degree, dances with students of DY Patil University

Actor Kartik Aaryan recently celebrated a major milestone as he was finally awarded his degree at DY Patil University’s convocation ceremony in Mumbai. Over a decade after enrolling in the course, Kartik returned to his alma mater to mark the special occasion. On Saturday, he shared glimpses of the memorable day on Instagram, revealing moments of joy, nostalgia, and heartfelt interactions with students and faculty.

“From being a backbencher to standing on the stage for my convocation—it’s been an incredible journey,” Kartik captioned his video. Expressing gratitude, he continued, “DY Patil University, you’ve given me memories, dreams, and now, after more than a decade, my degree! Thank you, Vijay Patil Sir, my amazing teachers, and all the young dreamers for this love—this truly feels like coming home.”

The video showcases Kartik wearing a personalized college jersey jacket with his name proudly displayed on the back. Addressing a hall filled with enthusiastic students, Kartik received a rousing welcome. The highlight of the day was his energetic dance performance with the students to the upbeat title track of his film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.


As Kartik walked through the campus, he was met with thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd. The actor took time to connect with his former professors, reminiscing about the days he spent at the university. One touching moment featured him signing the college board, leaving behind a token of his visit. “I’m overwhelmed with excitement and happiness to be back,” he shared during his speech.

Throughout the event, the video captured several heartwarming interactions. Kartik mingled with fans, beaming as they showered him with gifts, praise, and admiration. In one emotional moment, a female fan, overcome with excitement, burst into tears upon meeting him, a gesture Kartik responded to with warmth and kindness.

The actor has had an eventful 2023, starring in two successful films—Chandu Champion and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Recently, fans have been intrigued by his new look, featuring long hair and a heavy beard, sparking speculation that it might be for Anurag Basu’s upcoming untitled musical love story, also starring Tripti Dimri. Kartik began filming for the project in September 2023 but has remained tight-lipped about the storyline or his character.


In addition, Kartik announced another exciting project earlier this month—a film under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. His last release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, was a blockbuster success, earning over ₹250 crore at the box office. Kartik reprised his beloved role as ghostbuster Rooh Baba, alongside a stellar cast that included Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Tripti Dimri, and Rajpal Yadav.

Amid these accomplishments, Kartik remains nostalgic about his roots. In one clip, he fondly points out a spot on campus, recalling, “I used to fill water here, just like a water boy.” Kartik was pursuing engineering at DY Patil University when he landed his breakthrough role in Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011, marking the start of his remarkable Bollywood journey.
