Karisma Kapoor’s daughter's college fees of Rs 95 lakh per semester have been paid, claims Priya Sachdev’s lawyer. Where does she study?

According to filings presented in the Delhi High Court, tension escalated within the Kapur family only days after the legal representatives of Karisma Kapoor stated that her daughter Samaira’s university dues had reportedly been left unsettled. Karisma’s counsel had argued that the administrators managing the estate of her late former husband, Sunjay Kapur, had allegedly failed to process the required payments.

In response, Priya Kapur, Sunjay’s widow, firmly rejected these allegations. As per information presented by Priya’s lawyer, Sheyl Trehan, official fee receipts were produced before the court, demonstrating that the pending semester charges had already been cleared. This information was shared during the ongoing hearing concerning the administration and distribution of Sunjay Kapur’s estate.

During the most recent session before the Bench, Trehan submitted documentation confirming that Samaira’s tuition amount—nearly ninety-five lakh rupees per academic term—had been fully paid. The lawyer also clarified that the subsequent payment cycle would arise only in December, countering the assertions made by Karisma’s team a week earlier.


Karisma’s counsel, Mahesh Jethmalani, had insisted that the fees for two months were overdue, even though Samaira, currently twenty-two years old, is pursuing higher education in the United States with the financial responsibility falling on her late father’s estate.

Legal Conflict Over the Kapur Estate

The disagreement over the tuition dues is part of a much larger and increasingly strained legal dispute. Karisma’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have initiated proceedings questioning the authenticity of Sunjay Kapur’s will, claiming that Priya Kapur may have fabricated the document. The estate in question is reportedly valued at around thirty thousand crore rupees. The previous hearing saw Samaira’s lawyers raise concerns over unpaid dues, prompting the court to advise both sides to maintain restraint and avoid theatrics during the proceedings.

Educational Background of Samaira and Kiaan

According to the details available on Samaira’s LinkedIn page, she completed her schooling at the American School of Bombay before enrolling at Tufts University in the United States. Her younger brother, Kiaan, studies at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai, as reported by DNA.
