The tweet comes a week after Johar denied any links to two people questioned by NCB.
As Bollywood finds itself in the midst of a probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau with several leading names from the industry being questioned, film-maker Karan Johar in a tweet addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the film fraternity will come together to portray the “valour, values and the culture of India” for the 75th Independence anniversary celebrations.

“Drawing inspiration from our Honorable Prime Minister from whom we also seek sustained guidance, we the members of the film fraternity are privileged to announce our plan to celebrate the 75th year of Independence,” the statement read.

The tweet comes just days after the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' director denied any links to two people questioned by NCB. Johar had also denied having ever consumed narcotic drugs or promoted them. In a statement posted on his official Twitter handle, he threatened legal action against “slanderous and malicious” news that had “unnecessarily subjected me, my family, and my colleagues and Dharma Productions to hatred, contempt and ridicule”.
