Set against the backdrop of the 1990s Gulf War, Kara blends global events with a deeply personal story. The narrative unfolds in 1991 in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, during a period marked by fuel shortages and economic struggles. At its core is Karasaami, a man trying to leave behind a troubled past. However, circumstances force him back into a life of crime, particularly bank robberies, as he attempts to protect his family and community.

The technical team behind Kara adds further weight to the project. Music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, marking another collaboration with Dhanush. The lyrics are penned by Yuga Bharathi and Asal Kolaar. The film’s visuals are handled by cinematographer Theni Eswar, while Sreejith Sarang takes charge of editing. The action sequences are choreographed by Dinesh Kasi, promising high-intensity moments that match the film’s gritty tone.
